Illinois: www.idaillinois.org lets you search oral histories, manuscripts, letters, photographs and newspapers.
Indiana: www.in.gov/library/genealogy.htm sends you from "online resources" to several choices including Indiana State Library Resources, Indiana Legacy, Indiana Memory, and Indiana State Library Digital Collections.
Iowa: digital.lib.uiowa.edu is a collection of diaries and letters from the Civil War and both World Wars, county atlases, yearbooks and government posters.
