The Ontario Name Index

Information from an Internet Genealogy Newsletter

The Ontario Name Index (TONI)

TONI is a free research tool created by the Ontario Genealogical Society. Researchers can enter a name with an optional location and results will direct the user to resources where references to the name were found.

Remember that this is an index that will lead you to where the information can be located. The source could be a cemetery transcription, website, microfilm, etc.

You can access TONI from the OGS homepage. Give it a try.

October Notes

October is Family History Month!

It's time to retrieve the stack of genealogy records you were going to work on over the summer. Most of us had plans to advance our research, and then life got in the way.

Review your notes.

Take a look at the 1921 British census.

Or, take a look at the 1950 U. S. census. It is now indexed and free on both Ancestry and FamilySearch.
