Member spotlight: Nancy Archibald

Nancy Archibald has been a member of our club since 2010, which is when she began doing genealogy research. Nancy has two children and lives in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada.

Nancy’s interest in genealogy began when her family from Nova Scotia put together the “Archibalds of Nova Scotia Book” that dates back to the 1600s. She has two uncles who also wrote their life stories. She started reading all three of these books and found them fascinating. Nancy joined our club to learn more about how to find family members. She also took courses in Guided Autobiography to learn how to write her own life story.

At present she is researching the names Huybens, Roberts and Archibald. Her great grandfather Huybens, who was born about 1885 in Belgium, is her current brick wall. Nancy met a lady from Belgium while on a hike in Las Vegas who told her Huybens is a very popular name in Belgium.
Nancy recommends the Legacy website and its free webinars.
