Here is information I received on July 1, 2018 from the Mesa facility. It looks as if they won't be open for at least two years.

2019 Genealogy Workshop
The Pinal County Genealogy Workshop committee held its October meeting this week. The 2019 workshop is scheduled for Saturday, January 26. Mark your calendars!
Last year's workshop was disrupted by an accident on Interstate 10 that prevented some of the speakers from attending. Their classes will be presented this year. Some of the offerings include the usual beginner sessions, DNA, land records, U. S. migration, and writing family history.
The website with all forms and information should be available by December 1, 2018.

Pier 21
Pier 21 |
Imagine my surprise when our cruise ship docked last week in Halifax just a few steps from Pier 21, where the Canadian Museum of Immigration is located. Of course we had to visit the exhibits. Dick took a few photos, also. Included in the immigration hall is a small family history center where folks can submit the name of an ancestor to see whether it can be found in the records. Next door is an office of the Library and Archives Canada. The main exhibit includes a timeline of Canadian immigration and an interactive map showing where immigrants came from during different time periods.

Summer Magazines
Our genealogy magazines eventually reach us as we travel during the summer.
From the June/July issue of Internet Genealogy: An article called "Scottish Tax Rolls Online" might be of interest to those members with Scottish ancestors. Visit http://scotlandsplaces.gov.uk to check out their offerings.
Also in the same issue is a reminder that since February 2018, all digital collections at the Swedish National Archives are free to search and view. You can select "English" to view the instructions. Here's the link: http://sok.riksarkivet.se/digitala-forskarsalen.
The July/August issue of Family Tree Magazine contains a comprehensive article by Lisa Alzo on overcoming obstacles for Eastern Europe research. She provides strategies for figuring out changes in spellings of names and also place names as borders "moved." A list of useful Eastern European genealogy websites is included.
