Saving or printing images from Ancestry.com

Have you encountered problems saving images to your computer from Ancestry.com after a change in computer or upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer?

With recent changes in both Internet Explorer for Windows 7 / Vista and Ancestry.com, you need to set Ancestry.com as a trusted site before you can print or save record images.

See this article on ancestry.com for a demonstration on how to remedy this problem.

Changes regarding Social Security information

From Family Tree Online Newsletter:
The Social Security Administration will block out parents' names on the SS-5 you requested if the applicant was born less than 100 years ago and you don't provide proof the parents are deceased.
If you requested the SS-5 in order to learn those parents' names in the first place, of course, you can't prove they're deceased. And you're out the nonrefundable $27 fee you sent with your request.

In Memoriam - Herb Rode

It is with  sorrow that this post is written

Our fellow club member Herb Rode died on September 4th at the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Herb had many interest, in 2011 Herb joined our club and decided to go back to working on his family history.
Present at every meeting, Herb could be easily found sitting at the front table with his wife Bonnie.
Herb will be remembered as Palm Creek for his generous smile and his always friendly greetings.
He often said " Hi Neighbor"

The following obituary appeared in the Casa Grande Dispatch:

In closing our club sends its deepest sympathy and prayers to his wife Bonnie and to his entire family.
