Pier 21 |
Imagine my surprise when our cruise ship docked last week in Halifax just a few steps from Pier 21, where the Canadian Museum of Immigration is located. Of course we had to visit the exhibits. Dick took a few photos, also. Included in the immigration hall is a small family history center where folks can submit the name of an ancestor to see whether it can be found in the records. Next door is an office of the Library and Archives Canada. The main exhibit includes a timeline of Canadian immigration and an interactive map showing where immigrants came from during different time periods.
