Genealogy Workshop with Miles Davenport
Griffith’s Valuation and Other Irish Land and Property Records
Level II: Intermediate
This workshop provides a comprehensive look at Irish land and property records that can be used as a substitute for missing or lost 19th Century Irish records and those of earlier eras. The workshop will demonstrate how to utilize records such as Griffith’s Valuation, Tithe Applotment Books, and numerous other online and offline record sources to uncover relevant genealogical information in Ireland. The primary focus of the workshop will be on the records generated by Richard Griffith’s extensive valuation activities that led to and followed his Primary Valuation of Ireland published between 1847 and 1864. An actual case study will illustrate how to locate and interpret these land and other property records and use them to determine multi-generational family relationships
Member Registration: $15
Non-Member Registration: $20
