I had a note from Ann Snyder this week reporting that she has been using her local public library card to remotely access Newspapers.com. This is the subscription site attached to Ancestry (for which you have to pay extra).
It was exciting for me to find that one (of my three) libraries has the same feature. I suggest that you explore your public library's website to see whether they provide this option.
